Tonight we are back after roughly three weeks off…  one week missed because I had the flu and another week devoted to a game of the month show.  As a result there are a bunch of things we have to say about a wide variety of topics.  Bel discovers Wolcen a game attempting to split the line between Diablo 2/Path of Exile and Diablo 3.  Kodra talks a bit about how well the Switch works as a mobile gaming platform and his experiences with Mario and Rabbids.  Tam talks a bit about Nier Automata and how close he came to just giving up on that game.  Kodra talks about his recent trip back to Atlanta and all of the board gaming that happened.  Bel talks a bit about Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age and how it weirdly follows the Japanese control standards.  Grace talks a bit about her experiences with the recent Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft patches.  Then we go through a big discussion about our feelings in regards to the Monster Hunter World release and how we seem to have fallen into a big hole.

Topics Discussed

  • Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem
  • Switch as Mobile Platform
  • Mario and Rabbids
  • Nier Automata
  • Board Games
  • Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age
  • Final Fantasy XIV Patch
  • World of Warcraft Patch
  • Monster Hunter World Shaped Hole

Tonight we return to the normal course of our show after last weeks unintended break.  We start the show off with a brief explanation of what happened then dig straight into some talk about Guild Wars 2 and the impending Path of Fire expansion.  From there we talk about West of Loathing, the pseudo sequel to Kingdom of Loathing one of the longest running web games than I know of.  Grace has been spending some time in the mobile world and talks about two games..  Legendary: Game of Heroes and Rabbit Evolution.  Ash talks a bit about the Monster Hunter Stories demo and gameplay in general.  Kodra dives into a few board games he has been playing…  Macao, Potion Explosion and Scythe.  From there we talk a bit about Magic the Gathering and how folks have been playing a bit of Commander.  Finally we close things out with a discussion of just how well Orcs have clicked with Kodra in Warhammer 40k.

Topics Discussed:

  • Guild Wars 2
  • Path of Fire
  • West of Loathing
  • Mobile Games
  • Legendary: Game of Heroes
  • Rabbit Evolution

AggroChat #84 – Stealth Luck Cheats

AggroChat84

This week we have a bit of a change in the show.  When we started compiling the list of what we wanted to talk about, it turned out that for the most part they were broader subjects rather than individual game specific ones.  As a result we ended up pushing aside talking about specific games because in those four topics we felt like we had more than a show’s worth.  The end result was us talking about “things” for an hour and a half and I think one of the more interesting shows we have recorded to date.

The topics we discussed

  • Stealth as a game mechanic…  particularly forced stealth versus optional stealth
  • The role of Luck in Board Games and why it is often times frustrating
  • Video Games as a Common Ground when meeting new people
  • Cheating in Video Games to improve your enjoyment

Each of the topics ends up being a pretty lengthy discussion.  Next week we will likely return to the standard way of talking about individual games, but this week…  we were topic focused!
