AggroChat #566 – Nom Tasty Bytes

Featuring: Ace, Ammosart, Ashgar, Belghast, Kodra, Tamrielo, and Thalen
Hey Folks! We have almost too many topics, which is odd because normally this only happens when we skip a week. We start off with a discussion about Paradise Killer, the first game from the folks who created Promise Mascot Agency. From there, we talk a bit about the current round of Hugo Award Nominations since Thalen gets to vote. Ash talks about the existence of Beat Weaver, but is NDA bound and cannot go into much detail. This is essentially a spiritual successor to Frequency and Amplitude from Harmonix. We talk a bit about Vampire Crawlers and its shifting the Vampire Survivors formula to turn-based Might and Magic style combat. Bel has been playing Space Dad Simulator in the form of Pragmata, and it is delightful.  Final Fantasy XIV had its Anaheim Fanfest, and we talked about all of the announcements that came out surrounding the upcoming Evercold expansion. Diablo IV Lord of Hatred launches on Monday and seems to be fixing most of the issues with the game, and Bel is looking forward to playing a SRS Warlock.  We talk a bit about Crunchyroll and the recent anime trends, and then devolve into a bunch of us just suggesting various anime.  Finally, Ace and Bel geek out about Eurovision because it is coming up in a few weeks, and they are pumped.

Topics Discussed:

  • Beat Weaver
  • Vampire Crawlers
  • Pragmata
  • FFXIV Fanfest Anaheim

Featuring: Ammosart, Ashgar, Belghast, Grace, Kodra, Tamrielo, and Thalen
Good Morning Friends! Lairs Day has come and gone, but for those of us recording the show…  it was still happening and as a result, we talk a bit about that.  From there we talk about the repeated death of E3 and why maybe they should just call it quits going forward.  Thalen talks about the apparent fact that Crunchyroll is known for killing games.  Bel and Kodra talk a bit about the Zelda Direct and how apparently Tears of the Kingdom is going to be even more sandboxy.  Super Adventure Festival is going on in Guild Wars 2 and we talk about the quirky new Fashion Wars event happening in Lion’s Arch as well as the test release of World 3 of the Super Adventure Box.  This past week the Crucible League announcement stream took place and the patch notes were released…  frustrating a good number of players.  From there Tam talks about Terra Nill an ecological world-building sim.  Finally, we wrap up the show with some talk about the books we have been reading.  Thalen talks about the Broken Earth series and Bel talks about Legends and Lattes and the Bloodsworn series.

This week we have a bit of an odd show, namely because there is far less gaming talk than other stuff talk.  We start off with me botching the intro… then roll straight into a discussion that got dropped from last weeks show due to the already two hour runtime.  Kodra, Ashgar and Tam have been watching a whole lot of anime namely with the new season of content showing up on Crunchyroll.  As a result they run down some of the more memorable shows.  From there we talk a bit about the Destiny 2 beta and the season 11 open in Diablo 3…  or that time everyone played necros.  We wrap things up with some talk about the Final Fantasy XIV escape room experience.
