Reekwater Skyview Repose Farm

Good Morning Friends! I hope you had a most excellent weekend. I had so many of these farm posts sitting there banked that I almost broke my cardinal rule of no posting on Saturday to churn through them a bit quicker. This morning I am going to talk about an interesting farm down in Reekwater involving an ancient spear wielder called The Surgeon. This game is pretty popular because it is one of the sources of the legendary Ancient Mandible trophy material. As a result, there is likely to be a regular cycle of familiar faces who are out there regularly farming this. For me, it has significance because it drops a really nice piece of jewelry for Strength-based characters. It also drops a handful of other significant items, making it well worth most players’ time.
This camp is located Northwest of the town of Reekwater, and you might notice the path I am suggesting looks a little wonky. The camp is located on the top of a mountain and the natural route winds its way through a few dozen packs of ancients before finally ending up on the artificial plateau where The Surgeon is located. However, if you are good at climbing mechanics in this game, you can instead make your way up the rock face latching onto rocks as you jump up and climb your way to the top without encountering anything. On the plateau itself, you will encounter an archer-type skeleton, a summoner-type skeleton, and then The Surgeon boss. This sequence has really irregular spawn patterns because while it follows the 5-minute spawn rate usually, it does occasionally do this thing where things instantly respawn. If you get in trouble you can hop through the circular window shown in the first screenshot and there is a ledge back there that you can drop down to and reset aggro. This ledge also serves as a safe spot to go AFK, but I would suggest dropping to a prone stance to keep from potentially being seen.
So why do we care about this camp in particular? As I said above this is the only Strength Based Earring that I was able to find that dropped at 590 and was easy to farm solo. It is also a good source of a pure Dexterity-based Greatsword and a pretty reasonable Constitution-based tanking shield. I would have rather than shield have been a Tower-type but beggars can’t be choosers. If I had one regret about this camp it is that the Spear that is named after this particular boss… only drops at item level 500 instead of 590. If you need Obsidian Gypsum it is also a pretty good source for you to get your daily drops while you are farming other items. The bonus of this camp is that if you happen to get the Ancient Mandible to drop while you are farming other things, then you probably just made an instant windfall of coins. Truth be told you could probably flip it instantly to one of the players who are also standing there trying to farm it, albeit at probably a diminished return. I came out here mostly for the earring because I was trying to get a full set of 590 jewelry, but the shield is pretty solid as well and hard to replace. I have a handful more of these guides that I will be posting over the coming days and have collected them into a Loot Farms category on my blog. As always if you know any great spots that I have not visited that drop level 590 gear, please drop me a line below. The post Reekwater Skyview Repose Farm appeared first on Tales of the Aggronaut.

Weaver’s Fen Broadpaw Den Farm

Good Morning Friends! We are going to mostly pretend like things are normal and continue with my series of New World loot farm guides. However, I have updated Belgha.st to include all of the extraneous services that I have accounts on… you know for no reason. I realize if you have been following this series that this is going to seem a bit like Deja Vu since we have already farmed a bear named Scratchy before, but apparently in this world bears drop good shit. This time we are headed to Weaver’s Fen up in the Northern part is less swampy and hunting Broadpaw that has a den… but actually just spawns out in the field in front of it.
This farm is located Northeast of the Weavers Fen Town or more conveniently straight west of the spirit shrine in the Northern part of the zone. If you are coming from the town it is probably best to follow the road up and around and through the little undead town and while you are up there… go ahead and pick up the spirit shrine for future use. The top end of the zone has a lot of repeatable faction quests so you may want rapid access to it at some point. The farm itself is simple… wait for the bear to spawn, kill it and then wait another five minutes for it to spawn again. While you are waiting around however there are two areas with Iron nodes, one Gold node in the den, four or five honey trees, various assorted plants, and a wolf that paths through the area. You will walk away with quite a bit of thick hide doing this farm if you are out here by yourself.
Why do we care about this camp in particular? Well, it is probably the only easy musket you can get that is 590 as well as a pretty solid option for Hammer and Greatsword. Though I admit I came here exclusively to find a musket I did not have to go to Myrkgard or Eternal Pools to farm. I think I was out here a grand total of three hours and in that time I got four greatswords, two hammers, a plethora of the item level 435 hammer, three weaver’s shirts, and a single musket. One of the things that I did find surprising is I never saw the 435 Great Axe that supposedly can drop here, but since I only cared about 590 weapons I did not worry too much about it. Let’s dive into the drop table further: Really like I said before this is a camp that you are going to farm if you want a Musket because there are better Greatswords and Hammers available elsewhere. It is however a very easy camp albeit a bit boring. I have a handful more of these guides that I will be posting over the coming days and have collected them into a Loot Farms category on my blog. As always if you know any great spots that I have not visited that drop level 590 gear, please drop me a line below. The post Weaver’s Fen Broadpaw Den Farm appeared first on Tales of the Aggronaut.

Reekwater Mosswater Bourg Farm

Good Morning Friends! I still have a large stack of these camps to go through and this morning we are going to introduce a pretty enjoyable one. If you are Syndicate faction and have done all of your promotion quests, you will recognize this location because this is where Lost Alchemist Krockes spawns. However, he is not really who we are focused on because all of the good stuff actually drops from his pet alligator named Putris. Krockes also has a good drop on his table, but the vast majority of what we care about is sitting on the gator… but we will be killing both each time. The only real interruptions out here will be from other folks farming for drops or for syndicate players trying to complete the quest. Please let them do so and if you find them wandering around aimlessly… maybe send them a tell to let them know it is about to spawn again.
This is located due west of Reekwater town, and is on the border of Windsward… but entering in from that direction will just mean you have to clear away more encounters as the density of mobs is thickest along that edge. If you were being very careful you could honestly probably avoid fighting anything on your way to Krockes and Putris. There are a good number of spawns along the road however and if you stray off the path there is at least one of those silver-colored alpha wolves. Both encounters drop a piece of tradeskill gear, so it is actually fairly likely that you might encounter someone else farming with you. As always this is a good opportunity to group up and make a new friend as you while away the hours of farming for that drop you need. Krockes drops Obsidian Gypsum so he is a pretty easy way to farm your daily three.
All told it is a really great general camp especially for Dexterity-focused builds given you can pick up a Greatsword, Rapier, and Spear that are all drift compatible with that lifestyle. For those of you on Team Strength, then there isn’t much at all that is going to interest you. I do really like the Void Gauntlet overall since I tend to go down the tree that it is buffing. However, one thing I have noticed is it is like AGS over-compensated and puts twice as many Void Gauntlets, Greatswords, and Blunderbusses out in the world than they did other weapon types. Let’s dive into a rundown of the notable drops: Another interesting side effect of this camp is you are very likely to walk away with a bag full of various legendary crafting materials. I think I farmed this for around four hours to get all of the drops. I saw 1 rapier, 1 greatsword, 3 void gauntlets, 5 spears, and around a dozen different legendary materials. You will also walk away with stacks of the highest-tier potions, which is admittedly one of the positives of the farmer lifestyle. I really need to track down a Strength-Based spear, but so far I have yet to find one… at least not from a farmable camp like this. I believe I have six more of these waiting in the wings now, pending I don’t find any new ones to run off into the world and document. As always I have collected these in a Loot Farms category here on the blog, and I think my plan once completed is to add something to the Game Tools page that breaks the information out by weapon type. As always if you know any great spots that I have not visited that drop level 590 gear, please drop me a line below. The post Reekwater Mosswater Bourg Farm appeared first on Tales of the Aggronaut.
