For Fashion

I’ve been adding priest transmog goals to my monthly goal lists. This is the result so far. I managed to get all of the pvp sets that are available with marks of honor. I’ve been farming them on all my alts whenever there’s a world quest up that rewards them. This week I also managed to score the boots that had been eluding me from Naxx-10, which finished off all of Wrath for me. I’m not really sure why I am doing this. A lot of these sets look pretty awful honestly. It has been fun to have a very low-key goal to work on though, and I can combine this with mount/pet farming. I’m weirdly looking forward to BfA, not for its own sake but so I am another 10 levels higher and can solo more old raids for fashion.

April 2018 Gaming Goals

It is spring! I was worried about this for a bit because there was a major snowstorm about a week ago but I think that was winter’s last hurrah. Now it is time to check in on my gaming goals for March and April.

March Goals in Review:

WoW: Finish off the TBC raid transmog sets for my priest. Done!

Level one of my allied race alts to 60. Not quite. I got my nightborn mage up into the 50s but leveling is very noticeably slower than it used to be.

FFXIV: Catch up enough to run the new raid stuff. Nope. My sub ran out and I haven’t been motivated to go back

Furnish my house. Nope.

Diablo 3: Help my friends get their murder bears. Done-ish. I helped my friends, and at last check the one who hadn’t finished only has the solo grift left to do.

Monster Hunter World: Catch up to my friends. Nope.

April Goals:

WoW: Complete all the priest transmog sets up through Cata. I’m not sure if this is actually possible in the number of lockouts I have, but it is still my next goal. As of now I only have one piece missing from Wrath, and then mostly need to fill out the Dragon Soul sets. This process is going to slow down a lot now that I’m entering the era where raids have 3+ different sets and the content is harder to solo. I did at least get a second priest up to 110 so I can farm twice as often.

Get my new mage up to 70. This is another one that I am doubtful about completing, but I really do want to get it done.

Participate in my friend Belghast‘s M+ nonsense. I think the goal is to get to +15 so we can all at least unlock the fancy weapon skin. I haven’t healed in a while so it should be interesting.

Monster Hunter World: Finish the story. Some of my friends have already finished up and left this game, and I am slowly starting to bounce too. I would like to at least finish the main story line before I go.

This is a pretty short goals list. I suppose it says something about my priorities lately. Between creative things, trying to learn a new language, and the usual work/school commitments, I never seem to have enough hours in the day. I still count myself very fortunate that I get to do so many enjoyable things!

Dream Home

Dream HomeOh No

When FFXIV Stormblood details were announced one thing my FC got excited about was the addition of a new housing zone. They took up a collection and when plots opened up they snagged a (much bigger) fancy new house. Meanwhile I was mortified. I’m a Roe, an officer in the Maelstrom, and a certified Merlwyb fangirl. I love Limsa Lominsa and I loved our little home in the Mists. I was happy that my FC family were happy in our new home, but I was already plotting and scheming to figure out how to get back to Mist.

It was frustrating for a while, because new housing purchases were locked to free companies only. That was a good idea to allow more FCs to enter the housing market, but it was maddening to see all the lovely plots I dreamed about getting locked up before I could touch them. Luckily they finally allowed individuals to purchase housing plots again, and I got to leap in and get the house of my dreams. Eventually.

First I had to figure out how purchasing housing works. One annoying thing was that when a plot is vacated, it gets locked out from new buyers but people can still transfer there. I found several free plots that were just what I wanted, but I couldn’t buy them outright because they still had this timer. In the end I bought a crappy plot way at the back of the zone that happened to be open, and then I could transfer to the one I actually wanted. Sure, it was a giant “waste” of money, but in the end I got my dream home. What is extra funny is that it is a spot that is basically “across the street” from where our old FC house was in the zone layout. It feels very familiar and cozy but also I have a better view of the ocean now Dream Home

Dream HomeSadly I used so much gil by having to essentially double purchase my house that I don’t have much leftover for buying furniture. At least now I have plenty of time to settle in and earn more cash for pretty house stuff. I might even fall down the crafting hole to make some things for myself!

March 2018 Gaming Goals

Oh, is February over already? It feels like this year is going by way too fast. I was out of town for over a week this month, so that’s my excuse for not meeting all of my gaming goals.

February Goal Review:

WoW: Do all the wings of Antorus LFR. Done! I barely remember it, because LFR is not that memorable. At least it unlocked the new story stuff in Silithus.

Get exalted with one of the Argus factions. Done! I actually finished them both!

Hollow Knight: Get an ending. Nope.  I barely picked this game back up.

FFXIV: Catch up on the new MSQ, dungeons, and raids. Partial Credit. I have caught up on the questline and dungeons, but still haven’t done the new raid stuff.

Pyre: Finish the game. Nope. Although, I still have a couple days left to do this before our game of the month podcast.

March Goals:

WoW: Finish off the TBC raid transmog sets for my priest. This is pretty RNG dependent, so I’ll count this as a win if I at least run both raids I need every week this month.

Level one of my allied race alts to 60. I unlocked all 4 available allied races, and made an alt of each. Now I just need to decide which one I want to level first.

FFXIV: Catch up enough to run the new raid stuff. I don’t feel very motivated to do this, but I would really like to at least see these once before the next patch cycle.

Furnish my house. Yes I bought a house when they were re-opened to individual buyers. Now I need to spend even more gil to make it feel a little more homey.

Diablo 3: Help my friends get their murder bears. I finished the basic season journey and got my cosmetic rewards right away, but I have a few friends who are not quite there yet. I want to make sure I help them out before I get bored and wander off until season 14.

Monster Hunter World: Catch up to my friends. This feels slightly impossible since everyone is still pushing forward. If I want to be able to do relevant things with my friends I’m going to have to try.

I finished more of my February goals than I thought. Let’s hope I can do the same thing this month!
